Really well designed and put together.
According to their Embodied Energy Database the place that I need to be concentrating on if I want to reduce my overall energy demand is my government. That’s right the UK’s government uses almost twice as much energy on my behalf than I do myself.

I’ve asked to see the group’s methodology but not had any reply yet. There is some discussion within the page’s forums about how they calculate some of the energy demand figures used in the calculator, but no consolidated methodology.
That’s understandable, after all they have IP to protect, however they are also asking for contributions to their database of energy consumption which makes me think about how everyone who contributes knows how to contribute in a consistent manner.
